Farewell NFLD------Hello Nova Scotia

July 23rd

Early rising 4:30 a.m. Our 8a.m. ferry from Port aux Basques,NFLD to North Sydney,N.S. delayed for 1 hour. All vehicles are inspected prior to leaving NFLD for disease carried by potatoes, burlap and plants(handed over my potatoes). Beautiful sunny calm sailing. Enjoyed music and movies on board ferry. My neck is peppered with black fly bites from Gros Morne. In the evening we visited nieces' Bonnie andHeather and all their families in Glace Bay ,1 hour away from our campsite. Diesel in NFLD was as high as $1.149 per litre. We have now travelled over 10,500 kms.Woh,what great memories!!

July24th

Beautiful and sunny 32 deg.c .We toured the Fortress of Louisburg for 5 hours. We visited the Fort 22 years ago. One-fifth of the original Louisburg has been reconstructed with costumed animators re-enacting life in 1744. We had lunch with only a pewter bowl and spoon . The homemade bread definitely stuck to your ribs(it was so heavy!!!!) We were very happy to re-visit the site. Bonnie and Allie visited our campsite in the evening. Good to have a phone call from all our friends vacationing in Loon Lake ,Washington. Have a great holiday. We miss you.

Sounds like a trip of a lifetime. We are so happy you are enjoying yourselves.

Been hot here. Carol is off to Winnipeg again in the morning for a wedding. I will be at the campground enjoying the air conditioning.

Only a little over 3 weeks to our wedding.
